Do we ever learn the lessons about the dangers of popularism and alleged charismatic leaders. Only through education and a free exchange can we hope to detect the signs and avoid. Grateful to my guide for accurately telling this horrific chapter.”

15.Bantreay Srei , Kbal Spean and Landmine Museum with Tuk Tuk

★★★★★★★★★★4.4 · 9 reviews · 8 hours

Set out from Siem Reap at a flexible morning time in a private tuk tuk with an English-speaking driver. Visit the finely carved Banteay Srei temple, walk about 40 minutes uphill through forest to Kbal Spean, then stop at the Landmine Museum. Water is included, temple admission is not.

“We enjoyed visiting Bantreay Srei (well preserved carvings!) and the Landmine Museum (informative and sad). We hiked uphill in the jungle to Kbal Spean halfway when someone told us that the river was so high that the carvings could not be seen, plus that it started to rain, so we turned around. Our tuk tuk driver was late, but friendly. The tuk tuk ride felt a bit long for these destinations out of town, but it was scenic and nice to feel the breeze and rain. Overall good value. I would recommend it to anyone not bothered by long tuk tuk rides.”
